Tedd has served in the substance abuse field for over 29 years. He received his Certified Addictions Professional (CAP # 801) credential from the Florida Certification Board in 1989 after serving four (4) years as an Advance Alcohol and Drug Treatment Specialist in the U. S. Navy. In 1990, Tedd received International Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (ICADC # 6014) recognition from the International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium/Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse, Inc. (ICRC/AODA). In 2007 he received his certification as a Mental Health Professional (CMHP) in 2008 he became a Certified Experiential Therapist (CET-II) and in 2009 he joined the Love First team of Interventionist with Jeff and Debra Jay.
After retiring from the Navy in 1991, he worked in both the public and private sectors of the substance abuse treatment industry. Tedd currently collaborates with public institutions of higher education as well as other agencies, providing leadership to improve the quality of education for new substance abuse counselors throughout Northeast Florida. He has served as a past board member of the Florida School of Addictions Studies, Inc., and currently on the Board of Directors of the Northeast Florida Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors.
Tedd received his B.A. in Individual studies with a major in Management and a minor in Psychology from Columbia College in 1997 and completed a dual Master’s Degree in Management and Human Resource Development from Webster University in 2000. and in 2009 he completed his education at Webster University to become a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) . He is now working on his Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy with Northcentral University.
