Sigma Center for Counseling

Sigma Center for Counseling believes that confidentiality is the foundation of the counseling process. Everything we discuss in counseling will be held in professional confidence. A signed Release of Information Form is required in order for information to be shared outside of our office.   

There are two exceptions under which our ethical principles and State law will not guarantee confidentiality:
     (1) when we believe you actually intend to harm yourself or another person; and,

     (2) when we believe a child or elder person has been or will be abused or neglected. 

There are rare circumstances in which a professional can be ordered by a judge to release information.
