Welcome to the opportunities available through Sigma Center for Counseling. We respect the personal courage on your part required to take this first step. Our experience in this work has taught us that even through great tragedy, deep shame, and intense pain the human spirit can triumph. We sincerely believe that change is possible and are committed to helping you discover or recovery your own path. We increasingly feel a deep sense of respect and appreciation for each new client who decides to enter counseling with courage and commitment to realize and make changes that will give his or her life new meaning and direction.
Our primary counseling methods are motivational interviewing, solution focused therapy, and action methods. You may be exposed to both individual and group counseling sessions. We are always researching and exploring state of the art methodologies to improve your opportunity for success. This includes, but is not limited to exploring nutritional wellness, financial stability, relationship issues, and relapse prevention. We may recommend 12 step or other self-help programs whenever possible to assist you in resolving your issues in a timely and cost effective manner.
We accept only clients who we believe have the capacity to resolve their own problems with guidance and assistance. We believe that as people become more accepting of themselves and gain the tools they need to be purposeful and successful, they are more capable of finding fulfillment and meaning in their lives. If counseling is to be successful, clients must feel that they are able to face life's challenges without further assistance and intervention.
In this handbook you will find information about our qualifications and background, our services, and general information related to treatment. You will also find several copies of forms that will be completed during the new client registration process. We will be happy to answer any questions that you might have when we meet.
